moms: pay attention, creative stress relief!
Happy Monday Morning Readers! Yes, it is Monday…back to work, back to school, back to the grind. For moms, this is sometimes a relief after an exhausting weekend of playdates, activities, errands, cooking, and fingers crossed – a date night. I am particularly slow-moving today after a very stressful few days, and I am determined to have a tiny bit of fun and letting go on the blog today. Introducing a fun way to get rid of the stress —
Daily Life for moms is extremely hectic and often times, STRESSFUL. No shit, you say. I just wanted to make sure that we were on the same page. I have talked about relieving stress (yoga, exercise, all the usual suspects) before, but today I wanted to take a new angle. Today’s topic is SEX! Come on Backngroove-readers, I write about 3 topics: mommies, mompreneurs, and my work on lingerie-related products. The Sex Talk was bound to happen sooner than later.
Did you know that sex is a great way of relieving stress? It is. However, I think many moms get caught up in a viscous cycle over sex. We actually create stress for ourselves over when and where to have sex that we become so pre-occupied and stressed over it that we defeat the entire stress relieving strategy of SEX! Frankly, I am just exhausted thinking about the whole cycle.

Emily sheds some great light on the subject of moving sex from adding to the stress level to what it should be….stress relief. She says: Sex is supposed to be one of life’s greatest pleasures, but eventually real life gets in the way and it becomes another thing on your endless ‘to-do’ list. How to bring sex back and make it fun? Well, here’s a few ways you can spice it up in the bedroom. But first turn off the television (or remove it from the bedroom, yes, you can do this) and your phone.
Ok ladies, in order to get our groove back on in the bedroom, we have to ditch the iphones, ipads, blackberries, blueberries, droids, and maybe even the TV! Can you do it?
Another helpful realization for all those Backngroove-men from Emily before we get to the list: It’s important to remember that our brain is the largest sex organ. Women can’t go from 0-60 like men can in the bedroom and takes longer for women to warm up so men have to keep this in mind.

~ FOREPLAY: This can be the first thing that goes in a relationship so it’s time to bring it back. Send a sexy text message saying what you’d like to do when you see her/him again or what you remember that was so hot from last time. Foreplay is also everything from kissing to oral pleasure. Remember to tease each other, a hot kiss in the morning will rev your mind up for sex later in the day.
~ FANTASIES: Talking about fantasies is a great way to spice up your sex life. Is there anything he/she has been wanting to try? Find out and try it!
~ SPONTANEITY: Try having sex at different times, days, places. If you always have sex at night, try setting the alarm for 20 minutes earlier in the morning. Always have sex in the bedroom…? Try it in the bathroom, in the shower, laundry room or rent a hotel room the night to get away.
~ ROLE PLAY: Meet at a bar and pretend you just met. This might sound silly but it’s a favorite among many couples.
~TIME AWAY: Plan a sexy night or weekend away. Or turn your house into a love den for the night. Set up a massage table and light candles and open a bottle of champagne. See where the night takes you.
